, is a Westover Job Corps Center graduate. After graduating, she attended college and spent over 20 years working at several pharmacies, including CVS, BJ’s Pharmacy, Brooks Pharmacy and Rite Aid. Wendy returned to Westover in 2016 as a Pharmacy Technician instructor. “I am here because Job Corps gives me the opportunity to combine my two passions in life: pharmacy and teaching. I look forward to teaching many more students here and helping them find their passion in life.”

Ryan King - Maintenance - Light Repair - Westover Job Corps Center

Ryan King

has over 20 years of experience in the auto repair industry, including his current role as lead Auto instructor at Westover Job Corps Center. He is a licensed master consultant and ASE  Master Technician. Ryan also teaches professional racing car driving  at the local racing track Lime Rock Park. He loves teaching new skills to trainees that will help them be successful in their future jobs.

David Shea - Plumbing - Westover Job Corps Center

David Shea

has over 40 years of experience in the plumbing industry and is an affiliate of the Home Builders Institute. After a successful career owning and operating his own plumbing business, David became a Plumbing instructor at Westover Job Corps Center to give students the same opportunities he experienced in the plumbing field. David summed up his job in one quote: “Teaching gives me an opportunity to share knowledge and skill set that trainees can take on the job and earn a living.”  

Nylma I. Pillich - Office Administration - Westover Job Corps Center

Nylma I. Pillich

brings over 30 years of office administration experience to her position as Office Administration instructor at Westover Job Corps Center, including housing administration, management, pharmacy technician and medical office administration. Nylma believes “mistakes don’t define who we are but help you be and get better.” Her experiences have provided her with insight into career skills and studies that she uses to prepare students to be successful in their career paths.

Junior Knight

, Carpentry instructor, has over 26 years of experience in the carpentry industry. He is an affiliate of the United Brotherhood Carpenters of America and believes that building careers changes lives. Junior loves teaching and engaging with his students and takes pride in seeing the results he helps create and shape.

Bob Marion - Bricklaying - Westover Job Corps Center

Bob Marion

, Bricklaying instructor, is an affiliate with the International Mason Institute (IMI), and he was a journeyman bricklayer for the last 28 years with Union Local 3 in Boston. Bob started teaching for IMI and Westover Job Corps Center in 2002. He loves to train students in all aspects of bricklaying and preparing successful students for the workforce.

Patrick Welkley - Academics and Life Skills - Westover Job Corps Center

Patrick Welkley

, Academic instructor, has an educational background in sociology and special education. Throughout his career, the positions he has gravitated to and enjoyed most have all been related to working with individuals to help them reach their goals. When he isn’t working, Patrick enjoys coaching football at Western New England University. He also enjoys golfing and hiking in the Adirondack Mountains . Teaching is a great outlet for Patrick to use his skills to mentor, model and help students succeed.

Barbara Urbanek - Academics and Life Skills - Westover Job Corps Center

Barbara Urbanek

is a full-time Reading Instructor at Westover, with many years of experience within Job Corps. A native of Poland, she is fluent in English and Polish. Barbara is also the HiSET coordinator, assisting students with obtaining their high school equivalency certificate. She enjoys seeing her students reach their highest potential and succeed on their pathways. 

James Sturiano - Carpentry - Pinellas County Job Corps Center

James Sturiano

serves as Pinellas County Job Corps Center’s Carpentry instructor. For over 30 years, James has worked in the carpentry industry on numerous high-profile jobs, including Citi Field, Hard Rock Café and the World Trade Center. James is a U.S. Navy veteran and has been a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America for 20 years. He holds certifications in OSHA, scaffolding, aerial scissor lift, UBC journeyman, blueprint reading, solid surface, and first aid and CPR.
