John F. Valentine

has worked with Job Corps for nearly 30 years. John attended Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College and Ohio State University and completed the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute certification at the University of Southern Mississippi. John also has received several professional awards, including three Managers Choice awards, an Above and Beyond award, and Bamberg Job Corps Instructor of the Year.

enjoys training and preparing students to enter the welding industry. As a graduate of Job Corps, Tyrone is passionate about changing the lives of the students he teaches. Tyrone served as a Welding instructor at Flatwoods Job Corps Center before working as Welding instructor with Bamberg Job Corps Center. 

Laterrius Perry - Cement Masonry - Bamberg Job Corps Center

Laterrius Perry

enjoys training students to work in the cement masonry and construction industries. He brings over 20 years of experience to Bamberg Job Corps Center and has helped over 40 students make their mark in the construction industry. When he isn’t working as the Cement Masonry instructor, Laterrius is busy pursuing his education online through Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Courtney Rowe - Career Journey - Bamberg Job Corps Center

Courtney Rowe

Before serving as Career Transition Readiness specialist at Bamberg Job Corps Center, Courtney Rowe served as a counselor and academic advisor at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College. Courtney’s duty to her students is to ensure that all are prepared for the future, whether that is employment, advanced training, military or other aspirations.

Teneka Gatson - Career Journey - Bamberg Job Corps Center

Teneka Gatson

brings over 23 years of experience in education to Bamberg Job Corps Center. As a Career Transition Readiness specialist, Teneka aids students in matriculating into employment, the military, college and/or Job Corps Advanced Training programs. When she isn’t working, Teneka serves as the assistant youth choir director and on several other committees in her church.

Octavia Johnson - Material Handling and Distribution Operations - Bamberg Job Corps Center

Octavia Johnson

brings over 28 years of experience in manufacturing technology to Bamberg Job Corps Center. She is trained and certified in several types of machinery, such as the forklift. As a Material Distribution Operation instructor, Octavia loves to inspire and encourage her students to continue their education and to love learning about the manufacturing industry.

Dianna D. Bailey - Career Journey - Bamberg Job Corps Center

Dianna D. Bailey

, Work-Based Learning instructor, is quite experienced in working with students. Prior to working at Bamberg Job Corps Center, Dianna dedicated over 30 years to Bamberg School District 2. Dianna’s love for education and working with students afforded her the opportunity to hold several different positions outside of working for Bamberg Job Corps. When she isn’t working, Dianna is involved in her community, from serving on the board of a youth soccer league to being a member of the Denmark Dogwood Festival committee. 

Patricia Moss-Lingard - Office Administration - Bamberg Job Corps Center

Patricia Moss-Lingard

, a graduate of South Carolina State University, works as a Finance and Office Administration instructor. Prior to working for Bamberg Job Corps Center, Patricia worked at Orangeburg County School District for over 10 years. While working as an instructor, Patricia has received several Office 365 certifications. 

Jeremiah Hammond Jr. - Culinary Arts - Bamberg Job Corps Center

Jeremiah Hammond Jr.

began his culinary arts career in the U.S. Army in 1977. He served over 18 years in the Army before working as Culinary Arts instructor at Bamberg Job Corps Center. Jeremiah is a member of several food service councils, such as ServSafe Food Protection Management and International Food Safety Council, just to name a few.
